How to apply to study an undergraduate degree

Applications are now closed for Semester 2, 2024. The following intake is Semester 1 2025, with applications opening on 1 May this year.

Here are the steps to begin your study journey with us. Whether you’re still deciding on a course or unsure what the best pathway option is, follow this guide to submit your application.

1. Find a course

Explore our website to find the information you need to make a confident choice for your future ; try our career quiz or attend one of our events .

2. Select a pathway

An ATAR is not the only way to access Curtin courses. We offer a range of entry pathways to cater for your circumstances – whether you’re studying General subjects or VET certificates at high school; have attended TAFE; or have life and work experience.

3. Check the admission criteria to see what you need

General

You’ll need to meet the minimum or guaranteed ATAR for your chosen course or the general admission criteria for your entry pathway.

Prerequisites

Find any course-specific prerequisite subjects or other requirements by searching for your course and then click on the ‘Admission criteria’ tab.

English requirements

There are a range of ways to meet our English requirements .

Other admission criteria

Some courses have additional requirements, like the submission of an art portfolio. Again, you can find this information by reviewing the admission criteria of your chosen course.

4. Apply online

Apply directly to us

Applications for Semester 2, 2024 open opened on 1 March . To submit your application you need to register your details on our Applicant Portal and provide all required information. Your application can be saved and returned to at any time.

What happens next?

You will receive a confirmation of your application in 24 hours. For most courses, you will hear back on your application outcome in approximately 10 business days. For high demand courses, offers will be made after the application round closes.

If you’re currently in Year 12

If you’re planning to study in Semester 1, 2025 you can apply to Curtin via TISC from 1 May. You’ll need to apply through TISC regardless of whether you’re studying ATAR subjects, Certificate IV, General subjects or our UniReady program. You’ll be able to select up to six courses when you apply, so be sure to enter your choices in order of preference.

If you want to study Medicine

All applications must be submitted through TISC . Applications to study Medicine in Semester 1, 2025 will reopen from May 1 . You will also submit your supplementary documents through TISC. Visit the Medicine application requirements page for more information.

5. Respond to your offer

If your application is successful, details on how to accept your offer will be in the offer email – or you can find the information here.

Application deadlines

Here are the standard application deadlines that apply to many of our courses. You should check for course-specific and pathway-specific application deadlines below.

Some courses may have earlier deadlines. C heck your course doesn’t have a course- specific deadline using the information in the course-specific deadlines section.

If your academic status is currently listed as ‘ terminated’ , the deadline for readmission in Semester 1 2024 is 4.30 pm ( AWST) on 15 January 2024 .
