FERS RETIREMENT

The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) applies to federal employees hired after 01/01/1984. FERS Retirement has rules and guidelines that must be adhered to in order to optimize your retirement benefits.

When you select your retirement date, regulations require that it must be at the end of a month. There are also strict guidelines that govern when in your career you may retire. See the charts below.
